In this video, quality leaders from a popular nutraceutical manufacturer, Adaptive Health share their experience on using communication tools like Slack and Microsoft Teams to manage quality. They emphasise on the fact that these tools disconnect the collaboration from the data, leading to greater redundancies affecting their product launch process. They also share their experience on using Unifize to manage their quality processes end-to-end, and how it improved their collaboration and data management tremendously not just within their organisation, but across their partner organisations as well. Watch this video to know more about why Slack and Teams cannot replace a powerful collaborative eQMS solution like Unifize.

00:00 - 00:04
When you use Slack and Teams, it separates the collaborative portion from the data.

00:04 - 00:10
And it also doesn't afford you to have all of the linkages that Unifize lets you.

00:10 - 00:16
I can't even imagine the errors that would be made from conversations in Slack.

00:16 - 00:22
There's too many one off conversations that you're not documenting things in a quality management system.

00:22 - 00:33
So Slack and Teams I would view as solely a communication tool to discuss items similar to email. Right. Except it's just more informal shorthand.

00:33 - 00:37
Slack, you have no way of tracking what's happening.

00:37 - 00:47
Where in Unifize, if you @ somebody, they're notified via email. So it's shown in the quality management system as well as email record.

00:47 - 00:58
It just helps with accountability. The person is actually held accountable. You know, it's more of making sure that whatever request you're asking or whatever needs to be done is done.

00:58 - 01:06
Utilizing Slack, you do not have all the information right at your disposal. In Unifize, you do.

01:06 - 01:21
Where Unifize allows that collaborative space, but it also ties in all the data with it.

01:12 - 01:19
It's just like a great glimpse of what you need to see. So I don't have to use a lot of words.

01:19 - 01:32
You're not looking at your email or somewhere in Excel, Dropbox, SharePoint, whatever it may be, to find the information they're talking about via Slack, its there right next to you in the same window, the same frame when you're making these discussions.

01:32 - 01:52
And it links everything right to it. So if there's additional data you need to grab, it's still linked there. And again, in a moment's click, you can go from a Non-Conformance discussion all the way down to the raw material that was delivered from the supplier a lot and their test results and then you can see if there's like a dialog from other people. You can see that dialog as well.

01:52 - 02:03
In Slack, you may not be able to, you can add people into the conversation, but it just takes a little, you know, just sometimes it may get convoluted and things of that nature.

02:03 - 02:13
So with Slack, you could upload a word document but you can’t upload the finished good lot, which automatically will tie you to raw materials and the testing and the testing that the manufacturer did.

02:13 - 02:20
It all is like a domino effect in Unifize, which I would say the Slack and Teams is just stagnant documents.

02:20 - 02:23
You actually have to go find them individually one by one.

02:23 - 02:32
And I would never use Slack for anything besides a quick conversation, it would create chaos.

02:32 - 02:37
And I don't think we would ever be able to launch a product if Slack was used.
